Noreen Banks

Head of Dance

Having trained at the Arts Educational School, both in Tring and London, Noreen was then fortunate to be able to pursue her passion of classical ballet as a career. As a child she performed with London Festival Ballet, in The Nutcracker and Cinderella, and at college was awarded the highest classical ballet award, the Markova Award, judged and presented by Dame Alicia Markova.

Performing many classical ballet and contemporary roles, Noreen’s career developed to her dancing many soloist and principal roles, in traditional and contemporary works, in ballet companies in the UK and abroad.

After many years of performing Noreen then trained on the PDTC, at the RAD, to become a classical ballet teacher, gaining distinction with the diploma.

Noreen has successfully taught in several performing arts colleges over years, and has been a guest teacher in many establishments, developing her skills to become Senior Ballet Teacher, then more notably Head of Ballet. After many years of holding this position, she decided to return to freelance teaching and choreography.

In 2017 Noreen was invited to join the team of inspectorates for the CDMT.
